Raw Shea Butter – Ivory White

Ivory White Raw Shea Butter is extracted from nuts of the Karite tree, found in Central and West Africa. It generally takes 25 to 30 years for a Karite tree (Shea tree) to produce nuts that contain a substantial volume of fatty acids that make up Shea Butter and supply its unique and beneficial properties.

Shea Butter is easily absorbed by the skin and provides nourishment to the skin due to the Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Vitamin F of which it contains. Unsaponifiable fat is found in Raw Shea Butter at levels higher than most other vegetable-based butters (up to 12%). Raw Shea Butter also contains high levels of Cinnamic Acid which acts as a natural sunscreen (nearly equivalent to SPF 4).

There are many benefits to the skin when applying Raw Shea Butter as a daily moisturizer to the face and body. Jojoba Oil (pronounced “ho-HO-bah”) is the liquid wax produced in the seed of the Jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis) plant; a woody evergreen shrub that grows in southern Arizona, Southern California and northwest Mexico is the region known as the Sonoran Desert. Jojoba is a complex mixture of naturally occurring long-chained linear esters with many functional cosmetic properties that are superior to triglycerides. Over 97% of Jojoba is comprised of an array of liquid wax esters, with a combination of mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E), free sterols, and other unsaponifiable material making up the balance.

As we age beyond early adulthood, our skin manufactures less and less natural oils, resulting in wrinkles and more fragile, drier skin. Jojoba readily absorbs into the skin and provides all-day moisture that leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Jojoba Seed Oil applies easily to the skin, does not shine, and is moist to touch.
